I wanted to ask for peoples opinions about buying websites already built and at least partially populated.

I have a number of finished sites, with content on them, and indeed some traffic that I simply do not ever seem to find the time to develop. I suppose in reality these would be ideal for someone with an SEO/marketing history looking for a long term project that could provide adsense or affiliate incomes.

Would any of you consider buying such a site? or would i be wasting my time looking for a buyer?

Does anyone have any experience in this area they would like to share?

Ok, as this got no replies, I will ask some more specific questions rather than seeking general comments:

1. Has anyone sold a website with domain? How did you go about selling it? Was the process easy?

2. As anyone used to either buy or sell a website a service like websitebroker.com ?

I haven't bought or sold a site myself but have been reading up a lot about it over recent times. It is an area I am looking to get into but like you I'm struggling to find the time for the sites I already have on the go. Flippa.com seems to be one of the main sites for buying and selling on.

What sites are you thinking of selling? What niches are they?

I have several clients all in similar niches so have been thinking of buying up an expiring domain or existing website with decent links and building a site on it as a link source for my clients websites. A bit like a private blog network I suppose. I would then be seeking to build these websites up and monitise them through adsense, affiliate products or lead generation. In time I might look into selling them on. Or at least that is the theory anyway.

I have a decent celebrity domain name I began a site for about 3 years back, I also have a Pet article site, with some unique content on it. The site itself is finished, just content and some seo to be done.

I am always stuck in 2 minds with these things, I always feel site buyers are looking for sites with 1000 unique visits a day and an income of £1000 a month on adsense. My sites dont fit that bill just yet, or I wouldnt be selling now would i? lol

Put it this way, i wouldnt sell the site for $100 which is what I would expect to get offered at somewhere like DP.

We have a few users on this site that have done what you are doing. It worked out for some and some it did not. You might want to check out other forums and see what they say and than post what you find here. Which in turn will help out the next person that might have the same idea as you have.
