For a new website I'm about to do, www.keyword1keyword2.co.uk is gone, but I can get:
www.keyword1keyword2.org
www.keyword1keyword2.info
www.keyword1keyword2.org.uk

Would any of these be as good as a .co.uk? Are any better or worse than others for seo purposes? It's a Uk company after a UK market.

Would appreciate any advice.

Makes no difference at all from an SEO point of view.  Only matters whether or not the users will be confused by it.

Many thanks both. Is a .org.uk as effective in SEO terms as a .co.uk?? Or does it as Boogaloodude says make no difference??

The org.uk is better purely because it contains "UK" (if youre targeting the UK obviously).

In my experience there is no difference, so to answer your question yes its just as effective as a .co.uk.

I have .me.uk domain names too, but these don't seem to be as effective as a general rule, which kind of throws the does'nt matter argument out of the window somewhat, although i do agree that is the conventional rule.

Ha Ha well yes.

.org.uk is fine.
.me.uk i'm wary off, indifferent results, i have domains that should rank but don't, i have others that are fine.

Ultimately it's just one minor factor out of many including the location of the host server, the address on the site itself an who's linking to it (and their local factors) that all affect the geotargeted rankings.

What about .net?

Really it doesn't matter, other than it's easier to remember if its a standard extension.
