We have done this one before - we all know that this forum allows posters the opportunity to write a post on their particular business and the html coding that Ash introduced - (take a bow Ash  ) gives that post a reasonable chance of creating a related topic IBL.

As I have explained here before Leslie and I are planning to retire and sell up the businesses - so I noticed the guys who are planning the purchase have been searching my sites and my username - I hate show offs and I am not trying to impress anyone - but my username is quite possibly one of the more famous on Google 'links to' or as I prefer them to be called - Google references.

One of the searches these guys made popped up on my references
Old Moores Ctabuk AlamanacUK Search Engine Optimisation Forum (SEO Forum) - TIP :: Online social interaction :: Break Room :: Old Moores Ctabuk Alamanac.
www.davidcastle.org/BB/old-moores-ctabuk-alamanac-vt4252.html - 32k - Cached - Similar pages - Note this

Now - you can see quite clearly that Google has followed the forum post title - but mostly because of my username in it.

So what I am saying guys is ' make posts based on your keywords here at TIP'  There is little doubt that Google likes this community and it seems simply silly for you NOT to take advantage of this almost unique opportunity.

Remember - each page is a landing page - each topic related thread can be based on the Anchor Text and aimed at the landing page URL.

We do not have sig restrictions in TIP -ok I don't want to see hundreds but you can add pages from your site and rotate them.

We will post back on your topics - join the Count to a Million thread - it may seem like a pointless excercise to some of the more 'non childlike' posters - but I'm still a kid at heart and long tailed threads get picked up - so after adding the number - make a quick note about your site and add a couple of keywords.

Site marketing is a combination of Social networking, via Blogs and forums etc etc. So use TIP to promote yourself and watch those forum links start to become more authoritive.

I totally disagree with the people who say Forum links are a waste of time -they work for me

There are still users who do not believe in this David. They will just have to find out for themselves.

We watch this forum really well. The software that has been added and the mods that are on here make sure all that type of BS is either fixed or deleted or moved to the trash bin plus a few more of this and that. All put together it helps keep the forums clean.

The Iron fist was me! The new software seems much better at weeding out spammers but i've still deleted several single line posters!

@webnauts. It has to be the case that Googles groups links from the same URL but do you think that they completely squash them to one?

Say on a blog im cited in a post and then cited on another post months later would they also be seen as one? So, from a link juice point of view, you only need to concentrate on getting one link on a domain.

I cannot say I've given it any deep analysis but looking at the backlinks G sees as relevant (via Webmaster tools, not with a link: search), and comparing the general visibility/PR against them across several sites I manage, there's something far more complex going on than simply squishing all links from the same domain down into one.

Totally agree with you David.. I get lots of traffic from other webmaster forums and that's the reason I am joining more and more forums.

One of the most beautiful part of forum signatures that you can use deep links, any title you wish without any issues. I don't see many people using 'deep links' in signature yet. They are loosing a big opportunity.
