Right, im not repeating myself over and over. You think noindex pages DONT build PR but I think the evidence suggests that they do... We'll have to leave at that as I'm off to do something less mentally demanding - drink beer.

Right, im not repeating myself over and over.

Then I just felt so? OK.

You think noindex pages DONT build PR but I think the evidence suggests that they do...
Noindex pages do not have PR themselves. If there is any PR passed to the noindex page from other pages, will move to the pages the noindex page links to. Evidence?

Why does Mr. Matt Cutts advise not to have dead end pages (dangling pages)? Just for fun?
Can you explain me that? Your explanation will be the evidence I am missing and hope you will share it with me.

We'll have to leave at that as I'm off to do something less mentally demanding - drink beer.
There is a difference between an SEO Consultant and an SEO Technician these days. Even if it should not so in my opinion. Many other professional SEOs agree with me too. Did you know that Bruce Clay is a programmer? Wink

on a separate note John I noticed today we outrank you for "Onsite SEO" which isnt really fair considering your expertise in the area and how much you helped me indirectly with your informative posts and analysis tool when I was starting out a couple of years ago.

.. so I thought I'd link from the page to give you a legup in the SERP by way of a thanks.

thanks dude.  link will go live in the next day or two Wink
laugh I never targeted the key term on-site seo. And I am primarily living from naturally grown links. Links of people who voluntary link my site.

But yesterday I started for the first time an official link building campaign since my site exists. And my domain was registered on the 5th of October 2006 and went online on the 15th of the same month.

I was working until now exclusively on on-page optimization. But now we are going off-site. Stay tuned. Smiley

And congrats man.

Off-topic:

1. seoers.org rank today for "seo forum" #47 and seoworkers.net #31
2. seoers.org rank today for "seo forums" #57 and seoworkers.net #27

Whats going on?

ah my apologies dude should have made myself clearer I meant the webnauts site.

this page http://www.webnauts.net/academy/onsite-seo-training-seminar.html  ..was the one I was going to link to?

and yes SEOers is ranking poor, they were #5 for internet marketing forum before the migration.

When I created the web site webnauts.net I was still not an SEO. And I never SEOed the site, exept of some grob PageRank Sculpting. I am also not willing to optimize, as I am planning a redesign.

Migration of the new board is not the reason for the rankings drop. It is just becauseMatt Cutts deos not always tell the truth. There is a big discussion about that. For example, did you follow the entire story about ranking brands?  laugh

The link to that page would be great. Thanks man.

Pretty simple really, someone who shall remain nameless (lets just say hes renowned for his lack of technical nouse) allowed the original domain name to lapse, hence the 301 redirects that were in place are no longer functioning, so we are now effectively starting with a 1 month old domain name!

Two questions:

1. Did the redirect look like this?

RewriteEngine on
RewriteBase /
RedirectMatch 301 ^.*$ http://www.seoers.org/

If not, then it's obvious that the redirects screwed up. Wink

2. I see you are doing PageRank Sculpting and not Siloing Serious loss.

3. I think you should know already that I SEOed the previous board. If not, ask David.

These two issues are enough to lose a lot of what already was there.

The redirect code was / is fine, David has allowed the davidcastle.org domain to expire (i'm a bit confused though as the whois details still show him as the owner) by accident, so we no longer have control over the domain, hence the redirects are no longer in place.

I've not modified the forum software in anyway to manipulate the flow of pagerank, other than the robots.txt file you provided us with.

Well if Matt Inertia does agree that it would be a good idea to help you with PageRank Siloing (my way), and you are willing to do some minor work in the template, and if you are available on skype (voice), I can give you a hand for free, which it is a service I charge at present $2500 and above, depending on the navigation structure and size of the site.

If that is a deal for you, ring me up.

My skype name is Webnauts.

Cheers for the offer, much appreciated. I'm not on Skype, and do not have the time to spare at the moment to carry out any major modifications (if your offer is an ongoing one, when / if i get the time, i'll sort skype out and give you a shout),  i am happy to modify the template (provided it is within my capabilities), i have hacked the software a little to remove some urls that were causing duplicate URLS, that was pretty complex so it should'nt (he says!) be too much of an issue to tweak most things.

No worries about the template fixes. They are far more simple than you can imagine.
Sort skype out and give me a shout.

you didnt SEO your SEO training sales site?  laugh ..still a PR5 page on a PR6 domain selling an onsite seo seminar ought to be on the first page, (currently #13 looking from here)

Ok so, the link's live, I inserted "advanced" into the anchor because we will be able to tell from that whether it's this link that's done it or not.  the page last cached 22-03, so in about 3 weeks time I would estimate you'll be top 5 for onsite seo because of Ibiza linkpower Wink  (I nofollowed the second one to your main domain because at PR6 you dont need our help there.)

anyone else want some Balearic linkpower while we're at it (and have anything else half decent we might consider linking to? Smiley ) speak now or dont bother emailing us later..

if youre quick there's also an SEO India link available here too, to anyone with a decent site and a good grasp of modern SEO.

just fill out the answers to the questions here

SEOibiza I visited the link on your site and clicked on the link to pixondesign and I got a virus alert popup: "Exploit javaScript Obfuscation"!

What the hell is that?
