Hi All,

I could use a little help again ...

I've submitted articles to Ezine Articles in the past and have found this an effective (and free) way to get one-way links to my websites.

I was wondering if I should submit the same articles to other article directories (such as GoArticles, Article Alley, etc.) that I haven't used in the past - basically to get more mileage from the same articles?

Also, in future, is it good practice to submit articles to multiple directories at the same time, is it better to stagger article submissions over several weeks/ months, or should is it best just to submit to the one site (e.g. EA)?

Your advice would be appreciated as always.

Kind regards,
Tony

Hi Tony,

There are several answers to your question, I'll try to deal with the more important ones for the moment.

Ezine are one of the better article sites out there, there are others of-course such as Buzzle.com etc... The best way is to submit the same article  (word-for-word) to about 20 article sites and then search in Google for your article title wrapped in the quotes obv, this will show which sites Google penalises for duplicate content. Out of 20 I would say 5 - 8 may show before you have to click on the dup content brigade.

Now, one way to get around this is to have several works of your article ready for submission. try rewriting various paragraphs, if you have links in the body then change around the anchor text.

Staggering articles esp, if they are word-for-word won't do much to esacpe the content filters I'm afaraid. Best advice is rehash your work and don't over submit.

Hi nsm seo,
Thanks for your feedback.

So just to summarise ...
Submitting my articles to 5 -20 sites without making any modifications is fine. After that, I should edit my existing articles, save slightly different versions of those articles and submit them to more article directories.

Sounds like a plan my friend Wink

Thanks,
Tony

Which article sites would you use for the resubmissions of rewritten content? The big ones like ezine obviously won't accept dup content or rewritten content.

what is a "content filter"?
you can submit the same article to thousands of articles, but only a few will ever get indexed by google.
That's the real issue, not the duplicate content  Wink

Would an article directory like ezine penalise you if it finds out you've submitted an article to them and then to lots of other directories once they've published it? Or do they never check once they've published??

I suspect they simply wont have the time to check... 1000's of articles submitted on a daily basis (possibly every hour), even using automated checking will be too much to realistically keep on top of...

that's my under-informed opinion  Cheesy

Yeah....I agree with you. If once the article is approved or allowed for the submission, the statement coming from the Ezine itself shows there is no Dup content in the article and most of the SEO link building companies do the same. They first submit to the Ezine and then to other article directories..Hope it helps you.

Each article submission site has it's own rules and ways of checking but people should try press releases as well as article submission as these can be duplicate and usually are and they count as good links.
