Back on topic, i don't think you can go wrong with using analytics, its a fantastic piece of software that offers so many features.

Welcome back Deborah! Hope you are well!  Wink

I was on topic dude... Analytics was dimissed as rubbish and I'm recommending it as a webstats package as per thread topic.  The rest of what I said is to back up my assertion that the company that releases Analytics is a good company with a quality product.

(my guesses about Dave's feelings on speed cameras etc wee just a bit of idle banter and I hoped it would be taken as that)

...Analytics was dimissed as rubbish....

I don't recall it being dismissed as rubbish, I'm sure it's good for what it does.

But as Ash says, Google has too large a market share and they're expanding... like microsoft, they're one company mosh pit edging ever outwards.

I like the idea of lots of little companies rather than a few big ones, hence my preference to support the smaller companies... but not by paying them, I am a tight fisted northerner after all  Roll Eyes

I think there's two new threads for the break room here... 'Hands up who hates Google' and '1 out of 3 aint bad... can you guess which one?'

...and yes, entirely taken as banter... see you in the breakroom Grin

I've noticed over the years that when web stats list the keywords which have supposedly been used to find the site in question,  there's often the odd anomaly or 'too good to be true' keyword listed.

For example, Awstats often states 'homepage' in it's list of keywords.

Tracewatch is telling me that over the last 7 days, 'we' have been found 10 times for 'website design' in Google. This I find hard to believe and I cant find 'us' ranking anywhere for 'website design' (which doesn't surprise me).

Has anybody else experienced such things with their stats, or is it another of my famous friday blond moments  Undecided

Could be a local result.

It's definitely organic traffic. not a referral or something?

It's not giving me any further data for the visitors on that keyword, infact when i search visitors, it just says 'no visitors' so i suspect it's an anomaly

but I did notice that we'd been found for.....

BUZZ!

checked the ip of the visitor and got... http://whois.domaintools.com/74.125.74.131

surprisingly i cant find us ranking for buzz either
