Ok guys, looking for an alternative to adsense, something thats easily controllable, perhaps with an api. First glace through google and i found bidvertiser.com, not had a chance to look at it in detail yet, but i wondered in the meantime if anyone has had success with any alternative they would recommend?

Sorry mate all I could recommend would be the obvious stuff like affiliate schemes from Amazon, etc. Have you made any progress on this?

lol, finally a reply.  Grin

I think i gave up about July 09 on finding a good alternative to adsense. Eventually after much thought, i decided to slim down and hang on to just a few of my sites that i felt had a chance of making a half decent return.

What trouble did you have making money from adsense then?

I had some issues with Google, and how my ads were placed. When i placed them in a manner they made some money, google got annoyed with me. When i moved the ads to suit Google, they got few clicks. Eventually google banned one of my sites on another issue, with no prior warning, they claim they sent a warning, i didnt receive it.

Basically, i dont like having to use adsense, but as i couldnt find anything better, i trimmed down my sites and stuck only to the best ones.

I'd be looking at using amazon or affiliate marketing to fill the void, i've never found anything that will replace the ease and convenience of adsense though. Bidvertiser when i tried it 4+ years ago was a very small payer.

I've got some niches that i can only really monetise via Adsense though as they don't fit any affiliate programmes etc.

I ditched all the sites that were making little or no money and have just kept the few that were. Instead of trying to manage 70 sites, i can focus more on just the ones i feel i can actually get a reasonable return on.

Whats your opinion on whether its possible to earn a living from niche sites? Do you think its possible to get many sites on page one and earning then leave them whilst you create other sites to get page one ranking (preferably outsourcing/automating as much of the process as possible)?
