I already have a site ranking number one for several related chocolaty phrases but wanted to test a niche site in this market too.

have you thought about cloaking the affiliate links using 301s? i always prefer for them not to be able to see what it is until they've clicked it.

I have and it is something i might get round to at some point.

Would be easy enough for me to add the links to htacess and use keyword relevant links, do you think thats the best option?

yes exactly.

i always do it, probably not that many people hover and look at the URL but it's much neater to just have a URL that points to your own site and doesn't give the game away before they click isn't it?

then once they're there, your cookies got them and they're yours all yours
